Redskins’ linebacker Ryan Kerrigan joined Scott Jackson, Brian Mitchell, and Doc Walker at Ryan Kerrigan’s Leukemia Golf Classic to talk about how he’s handling the off season, what this charity tournament means to him, the Capitals’ success and much more!
On adding Da’Ron Payne and Alex Smith: “I know the additions we’ve made are really good ones, just looking at Da’Ron Payne this morning I mean that guy;s NFL ready, he’s a monster. We know what Alex Smith can do, he’s coming off his best season as a pro and we found that out the hard way last year when we were playing in Kansas City. We made a lot of good additions this offseason and I’m excited to see them actually in football stuff.“
On his offseason workouts: “I do take pride in taking care of my body. I always work on my flexibility, trying to get the right foods in my body and staying hydrated. There’s a lot that goes into it”
On Vernon Davis’ advice about taking care of your body as you age: “He takes care of his body the same way in the offseason as he does in the season and that really hit home with me”
On if he feels like he’s had a long career already: “I think back to my rookie year and that seems really long ago and just how much things have changed. But it’s awesome, I’ve been really fortunate to be in such a great place like Washington and I love it here.”
