Marketing, Promotions and Client Services Coordinator

 

RBN Media, the broadcasting arm of the Washington Redskins, is DC’s Premier Sports Marketing Company.  We own The Team 980/Redskins Radio, our digital assets and sell sports marketing programs – most often, aligning brands with the NFL and the Washington Redskins.
We are seeking a Marketing, Promotions and Client Services Coordinator for our corporate office in Rockville, MD.
The ideal candidate must have the following personal traits: have a professional demeanor with the ability to communicate clearly to executives at all levels (both internally and externally). He/she will be detail oriented and able to manage various tasks and meet demanding deadlines. This is a multi functional position that overlaps sales, marketing and promotions. The successful candidate must be well organized and be able to work in a fast paced environment. The ability to work independently by taking initiative, recommending solutions and making informed decisions is a must.

  • Manage Tickets and Hospitality including Coordination of Catering

  • Other Tasks as instructed by Director

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Graphic Design/Photoshop/WordPress Experience
  • Web Publishing Experience
  • Light Video and Audio Editing Experience Preferred
  • Ability to commute to office location in Rockville
  • Reliable vehicle to attend events and occasionally work out of Redskins Headquarters in Ashburn, VA.
  • Availability and willingness to work nontraditional hours including all Washington Redskins home games at FedExField and other assigned events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in developing activation plans with demonstrated knowledge of general promotional concepts and marketing principles
  • Ability to develop & maintain interpersonal and corporate relationships
  • Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information

Accounting Intern

 

Red Zebra Broadcasting, LLC , (a/k/a ESPN980) is a local DC sports broadcasting company and is searching for a student Intern currently enrolled at a local college and pursuing a degree and career in Accounting or Finance. This is a temporary, part time, nonpaying position and suited for an individual who wants to learn accounting basics in a professional fast paced work environment.

You will work directly with the Corporate Controller, Finance staff and Chief Financial Officer.

Client Services & Marketing Internship

Principal Job Functions:

The purpose of this internship is to give students an opportunity to learn and provide support in the day to day operations of the Marketing & Client Services department. Responsibilities may include designing and creating new sales materials, planning and assisting in the execution of station promotional events, supporting the sales and marketing teams, client and market research, and working at station remote broadcasts including home game dates. Interns may also work with clients on day to day projects involving game day marketing campaigns and on-air advertising.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Applicants must be dedicated, hard-working, self motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.
  • Must apply creativity and initiative to all projects.
  • Clear verbal, written and typing/computer skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of media, sports and entertainment industries is preferred.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs are used daily.

Requirements and Reporting Structure:

This is an unpaid internship and students must earn college credit. Students must be entering at least their junior year in college to be considered. The main office location of Red Zebra Broadcasting is in Rockville, MD and applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to the station as well as possible events at FedEx Field in Landover, MD or Redskins Park in Ashburn, VA.

ESPN980 Street Team Member

The Team 980 is in search of a few good all stars to join our street team! As an The Team 980 street team member, you will serve as a brand ambassador and gain a first-hand perspective into the many aspects of the sports radio, marketing and advertising industries! This part-time position is perfect for those looking for experience in promotions & live events.

Responsibilities include:

Setting up event and staging elements, attending promotions which include Redskins Games, Remote Broadcasts, station events, and sales appearances.

Supporting programming staff during live broadcasts, listener interaction at all events.

Requirements:

  • Must be dedicated, hard-working, self motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.
  • Must apply creativity and initiative to all projects.
  • Clear verbal skills and an outgoing, adaptive personality are essential.
  • Knowledge of media, sports and entertainment industries is preferred.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and a comfort level driving station vehicles, full-size SUV’s.
  • Be able to lift at least fifty pounds and be able to learn how to set up station display materials.
  • Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work a minimum of ten to twelve hours a week during football season.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment.

Sports Account Executive

Redskins Radio/The Team 980 is searching for Sports Account Executives with a track record of success to sell effective sports marketing programs out of our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. We are seeking Media Sales professionals who have the creativity and marketing smarts to help high level corporate clients develop multiplatform sports oriented marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate must be willing to work hard, stay organized and develop relationships with scores of companies – especially adept at creating new business. They must be driven to help their customers succeed.

Our team sells advertising across radio, television, digital, social and experiential platforms – many surrounding the most popular sports franchise in the area – the Washington Redskins! Also, important to our programs are our popular sports talk platforms including The Bram Weinstein Show, The Morning Blitz with Al Galdi, Cooley and Kevin with Chris Cooley and Kevin Sheehan, Inside the Locker Room with Doc Walker, Brian Mitchell and Scott Jackson, The Steve Czaban Show and ESPN Radio programming. The Team 980 Sports Account Executives also get the opportunity to sell various play-by-play packages surrounding University of Maryland Football and Basketball. Candidate must be a self-starter with a consultative, proactive sales approach who can generate new business while expanding the existing base of client advertisers.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Job emphasis is on creating new business and up selling existing account lists.
  2. Sell Multiplatform Sports Marketing Programs across radio, television, digital, social and experiential platforms.
  3. Proactively prospecting and qualifying potential new advertising accounts.
  4. Present persuasive sales presentations to multi levels of targeted organizations.
  5. Comfort in successfully closing accounts in excess of six figures annually.
  6. Attain Quota assignment in excess of $1 Million.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two to three years of advertising sales experience with proven success.
  • Determination when facing resistance
  • Digital sales experience
  • Desire to influence the thinking of others and gain agreement via logic and alternatives
  • Desire to be highly successful
  • A desire to be of service to others and help them succeed
  • Possess strong long and short term objectives and goals
